The idea to start recording my visa application experiences birthed from my frustration during visa applications using the Ghanaian Passport and very often assisting friends or family with their applications.

I know many Africans have at one point in time faced the visa application dilemma so i put this blog together recording my experiences and asking my friends from Ghana and other African countries to share their experiences with me to share with someone who may need it.

There are quite a number of websites dedicated to discussing visa application processes which i have opened many times. They have usually helped me but i could very often not relate to their experiences; another reason i came up with this to look at it from the african perspective.

I will also document my travels and experiences as a Ghanaian expat in Germany.

More for the curious ones…

How did you get to Germany?

By air ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ..i’ve been asked whether i crossed the desert or came by ship so i had to make that clear. 🙂

Now, let’s get to business. Germany was never in the plan. Their almost null tuition fees attracted me and I do not regret studying here

Where did you study in Germany?

I studied at the University of Munich

Do you speak German?

I think i will leave this for my German friends to answer. 🙂 I understand a lot and can hold a normal conversation. This language is not easy chale!

What do you miss about Ghana?

Kenkey from the road side! I sometimes miss all the noise (trotro and taxi drivers honking non-stop, the hawkers, trotro mates shouting, music blasting, …)

Hobbies

I used to love reading (ha! didn’t everyone?). I’m currently leaning towards calligraphy. My handwriting is nice like that! 🙂

Pet peeve

People who can’t keep time. Coming from Ghana, you would think i should be used to this by now but naah, it always bothered me back home too.

What do you do in Germany?

Currently a Training Consultant. You can read more about my professional side on LinkedIn

Why do you like travelling?

I travel a lot because of my job and i personally love going places. Doesn’t matter where and what i have to do. Just give me good company and good vibes, i’ll be good!

How do you plan your travels?

I’m big on planning. I love putting stuff together..what to see, where to sleep, how to get there, how to move around. I plan all of that before i set off! I travel with friends who are also big on planning. So, it’s usually team work.

Do you pay for all your travels?

Anka what?:D  There is no sponsor anywhere. I pay for all my travels (except business). There was a time my family used to support me but i’m now a big girl so no one minds me. Daddy still hates the idea of me travelling all the time.

~Happy Reading!~
