To confirm that you are eligible to directly enter a Master’s programme at a German university with a Ghanaian degree, you have to check the classification of your academic qualifications.
The anabin database will help you know if your degree is recognized in Germany (page is in German).
Institutions are listed with classes (H+, H- or H+/-):
- H+ : institution is recognized as a university in its home country and is also regarded as a higher education institution in Germany
- H- : the recognition / accreditation in home country is missing and / or can not be classified as a university in Germany
- H+/- : no clear statement can be made
I took time to take screenshots of all the institutions in Ghana listed on the Anabin webpage. These include institutions from Accra, Bolgatanga, Cape Coast, Sunyani, Ho, Koforidua, Kumasi, Kwahu, Takoradi, Tamale, Tarkwa, Wa and Winneba.
No fret if your institution is not listed here. You can always write to the university you are applying to when in doubt. 🙂
