Ethiopian visa in 2 minutes!

Effective June 2018, nationals of all countries can now apply for an eVisa to Ethiopia. No need to show up at the Ethiopian embassy.

What is an eVisa?

An electronic visa (eVisa) is a visa issued without the visa sticker in your passport. It is an authorized document which allows you enter your destination country.

What documents do I need to submit?

You only need to upload a copy of your passport biodata page and passport photo. Documents can be of file type JPEG, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF or PDF with size less than or equal to 2MB. No PDFs!

How much does it cost?

  • Single entry visa with validity up to 30 days, the fee is USD 52
  • Single entry visa with validity up to 90 days, the fee is USD 72

How long does it take?

The website says it takes 3 working days. I applied and got my visa in 2 minutes! 🙂


Attached in the mail is the authorized document you need to show to the immigration officers upon arrival. It contains your passport picture, travel information and a barcode to be scanned by the officers.

Never experienced a visa application process this smooth! Kudos Ethiopia!!

      Yes, two! After completing my application online which took about 10 minutes, I received an email confirming receipt of my visa application.

      Exactly two minutes after, I received the evisa approval. Fastest visa application process ever!
